Local residents meet with the Plaquemines team to discuss pipeline route and learn about the Project – September 16, 2015 at an Open House meeting in Lafitte, La
On September 15th and 16th, 2015, Plaquemines LNG held public open house meetings in Plaquemines and Jefferson Parish. The public meetings, with representatives from the Federal Environmental and Regulatory Committee (FERC) participating, were designed to allow local residents, community officials and other stakeholders to learn about the proposed project and ask questions related to economic and environmental protection.
On October 21, 2015 in Plaquemines Parish, Venture Global team members joined FERC officials for a project Scoping Meeting. Local elected leaders who went on the record with their support for Plaquemines LNG included: Councilwoman Audrey Trufant-Salvant; Parish President Amos Cormier; Plaquemines Parish Port and Harbor Terminal District Executive Director Sandy Sanders; Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry (PABI) Chairwoman Denise Buford; and Ryan Bourriaque, parish administrator for southwestern Louisiana’s Cameron Parish, the location of Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass project.
