U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
On March 5, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy issued the authorization for Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas from its Cameron Parish, Louisiana export facility to non-free trade agreement (FTA) countries. Under the terms of the order, Calcasieu Pass is authorized to export up to 620 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per year of natural gas (1.7 Bcf/day) for a period of 25 years, to commence on the earlier of the date of first export or seven years from the date of the requested authorization. This order follows the DOE’s previous authorizations to export to FTA countries.

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)
On February 21, 2019, the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued the Order Granting Authorizations under Sections 3 and 7 of the Natural Gas Act for Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG export facility and TransCameron Pipeline. The Order allows Venture Global to site, construct, and operated the project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
Calcasieu Pass LNG and TransCameron Pipeline were assigned the docket numbers CP15-550 and CP15-551, and filings can be found and read in full at FERC’s website.
Public Participation
The project team has hosted three open houses in Cameron Parish to seek public feedback. The public events took place in December 2014, November 2016 and February 2018.
Regulatory Permits and Approvals
Venture Global Calcasieu Pass LNG and TransCameron Pipeline have also worked with the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, and various other agencies of the state of Louisiana and Cameron Parish.
