WASHINGTON, D.C. – Venture Global LNG, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has engaged two leading manufacturing and engineering companies for its Calcasieu Pass Project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Chart Energy & Chemicals, Inc., (Chart) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chart Industries, Inc. will provide its mid-scale modular technology, and Tecnicas Reunidas will provide the engineering design for the gas liquefaction and export facility project. “Tecnicas Reunidas is a major international EPC contractor with extensive LNG, petrochemical and power project experience, specializing in large, turnkey industrial projects. Together with Chart’s IPSMR® liquefaction technology and proprietary equipment, we have a scalable solution for implementing modular technology in a base load configuration,” said William M. Wicker, CEO of Venture Global LNG. “This innovation will enable us to provide low-cost LNG exports.” Chart has been selected as the liquefaction technology provider and key manufacturer of the Calcasieu Pass Project’s liquefaction and other associated process units. Chart is a leading provider of highly-engineered cryogenic equipment and the world’s leading single-source LNG equipment and solutions provider across the complete LNG value chain; natural gas liquefaction, distribution, fueling, storage and end-use. Chart has design, manufacturing and fabrication facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. Tecnicas Reunidas is a global engineering, procurement and construction contractor that has designed more than 1,000 industrial plants in more than 50 countries. With extensive expertise in LNG, Tecnicas Reunidas has been engaged to perform the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the Calcasieu Pass Project utilizing its subcontractor’s (Chart’s) liquefaction technology. The scope of work includes designing a multi-train liquefaction plant with a total LNG capacity of 10.0 MMTPA; two full containment LNG tanks, each with a capacity of 200,000 m3 ; a 600 MW Combined Cycle power plant and marine facilities, which will include two LNG ships’ berths up to 185,000 m3 . The FEED work for the Calcasieu Pass Project commenced in August 2014 and is expected to be completed by mid-2015. “Both Chart and Venture Global have a shared commitment to provide customers with low cost, clean, efficient and safe liquefied natural gas. We look forward to delivering on the Calcasieu Pass Project and working with Venture Global to create a new standard in LNG production,” said Mike Durkin, president of Chart Energy & Chemicals. “Tecnicas Reunidas is pleased to provide our expertise in detailed and safe engineering to help Venture Global build a state-of-the-art LNG export facility,” said Arthur Crossley, general manager of Tecnicas Reunidas.
