Venture Global Calcasieu Pass hits milestone, officials say
Venture Global LNG hit a milestone Friday with its Venture Global Calcasieu Pass project in Cameron. Project officials submitted Resource Report 13 to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the proposed natural gas liquefaction and export facility in Cameron.
“The submission of draft Resource Report 13 to the FERC marks a significant milestone for Calcasieu Pass as it demonstrates the steady and timely progress we’ve made in the development of our multi-billion dollar export facility,” Fory Musser, senior vice president of Venture Global LNG said in a news release. “Venture Global LNG is now one step closer to delivering low-cost, reliable natural gas to the world.”
Resource reports are required regulatory filings that detail all of the environmental and engineering components and designs of proposed energy projects. Draft versions are submitted during the pre-filing stage of project development, pending the submission of a formal application, he said.
Venture Global Calcasieu Pass remains on track to submit its final FERC application in August 2015. According to Musser, this submission will be another important milestone in the company’s plan to receive the permits and approvals to begin the construction and operation of its planned 10.0 million metric tons per annum LNG export facility.
