CB&I Secures $200 M Contract to Build Two LNG Tanks in Louisiana, US
CB&I has received a $200m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Venture Global LNG, for the construction of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks in the US state of Louisiana.
The storage tanks will be constructed for Venture Global LNG, the US-based LNG export company at its Calcasieu Pass export facility, located in Southwest Louisiana.
Venture Global’s Calcasieu Pass could produce about 10 million tonnes of cost competitive LNG supply per annum. The facility has been designed to use a liquefaction system with an 18 mid-scale modular trains driven by electric motors for optimal efficiency and reliability.
For the contract, CB&I will install two single containment LNG storage tank units, on a turn-key basis. The tanks’ construction is expected to start next year.
